Hi friends, my name is Francesca and I am so excited to be serving as Delta Phi Epsilon's Vice President of Recruitment for the 2019 year! I would like to officially welcome you to our recruitment page.
My job as VPR is to plan our recruitment events throughout the year, with Carleton University Sororities in the fall, and within our own chapter from January to April. When we plan these events we do so with the hope that each and every person who walks through our doors can see how valued they are by our sisters, and in turn, can see themselves connecting to the values of our organization. As the largest chapter on Carleton's campus, I am lucky to have nearly 70 women to help me achieve this goal!
If I were to be asked to describe Delta Phi Epsilon in one word you would find me stumped because there are so many words that I could use, however, for now I will choose grateful. Grateful for some of the greatest friends of all time. Grateful for the leadership opportunities I've been given. Grateful for the networking opportunities, endless emotional support, and the endless love I've received. Grateful for the home away from home that was given to a girl from British Columbia who moved to Ottawa knowing no one.
My story is not unique, there are over 100 more in our chapter alone, and thousands worldwide, because when you join DPhiE, you're joining something so much bigger than yourself, than Carleton, than Ottawa. With over 100 years of history, we are made up of thousands of women internationally who all share the same motivation, goals, and values. Thousands of women living by our motto Esse Quam Videri "to be, rather than to seem to be" working together to bring out the best in each of our members, and pushing each other to become our best selves. We are so much more than the movies: we are scholarship, service, sisterhood, leadership, networking, social opportunities, and more. We are here to give you the most well-rounded university experience possible.
My hope is that everyone who steps into DPhiE gets the same feeling I did when I stepped into the room in first year, because everyone deserves to feel that sense of belonging. On behalf of our chapter, we look forward to meeting you during recruitment, and we can't wait to help you find your home!
See ya soon!
